On a diet & Amy Winehouse

OMG! Today is the day number eight on a diet. Honestly, I knew to be on a diet wasn't e-z, but! ... what the heck ! it's horrible. I feel like a streap danser in a desert. Hum ! how interesting the facts that I've never been a streap dancer and I've never been in a desert, but must be horrible (to be in a desert because my thwarted dream is to be a streap danser). Here we go. A few days ago I talked about my overweight. I mentionned my weight (364 pounds) BUT yesterday morning when I went back to my Nutrician, she realized that she made a mistake while she was checking my weight. She checked it and yesterday my weight was 320.77 pounds. I didn't even know what to think. I don't know if I lost weight or not, but I've got to confess it's nice the idea about losing almost 42 pounds in a week. I've been eaten all kind of juices, fiber, some pills and a plate of Raisin Bran every morning. Have you ever wonder what your dog or cat feels about eating the same damn thing every single day? Well, just let me tell you, I just started to feel frustrated just to see a carrot. I think one of the things that is helping me through this process is the music. I'm learning to play guitar and one of the songs that I'd like to play is To know him is to love him by Amy Winehouse. Actually, the song was written by somebody else but I just know the version that Amy recorded two years ago in Back to Black Deluxe Edition. I really really like this CD but for some reason I never paid attention to this song until Sunday night and oh my gosh ! I adored it. Here are the lyrics: TO KNOW HIM IS TO LOVE HIM by Amy Winehouse To know know know him Is to love love love him Just to see that smile Makes my life worthwhile To know know know him Is to love love love him And I do, and I do, and I do Oh, I'll be good to him I'll bring joy to him Everyone says there'll come a day When I'll walk alongside of him To know know know him Is to love love love him And I do, I really do, and I do Why can't he see How blind can he be Someday he'll see That he was meant for me You can listen it on YouTube, it's just amazing the version this Londoner recorded. I don't know why but she remembers me Billie Holliday... Well, let's see how tough this week will be on my diet days. Love, Gerry

The big challenge

I know it's hard to start but once you just decide to do it nobody can stop you. From this moment on I'm on a diet. It's probably the first time I do this (seriously) and I'm trying to see this change in my life as something important and completely necessary.

I've been doing some research and I've decided to talk my case with a Nutritian (damn ! I feel so weird talking about all these things.... ) because I can't continue this way...

My weight is 364 pounds and my height is about 5"9 ... Yes! yes! don't calculate! My overweight is higher than I thought... my BMI (or Body Mass Index) is more than 50%. I feel right now like if I were the fattest man on earth and I'm sure if I continue like this, I will be the fattest man in the world. I bought a few days ago a stationary bicycle (which I never use...) but today, today is da day, I'll use it by the first time. I overheard too, about these pills.... Xenical by Roche, some say they are great in this thing of losing weight but very expensive too. 21 pills for $270 dollars. A horrible sacrifice but it's horrible too beign this big.

Anyway, what a challenge ! but I won't let it get me down so easily. Ok, after this moment of confession I'll ride that bicycle (I must say my ass hurts like hell the first week of using it. I did that like 4 years ago and I can still feel the pain in my ass for that awful seat...)

It's all for now.... kisses
